The one thing MoonJune can do that nobody else can: assemble a line-up that has never shared a stage, put it in a room for a week, and record what comes out. A patron does not buy a record — a patron makes the band happen.

One person, one company or a pool of moonjunistas underwrites a single residency.

Why this and not a course
Access, not information
There are a thousand music-business courses. There is one person who can get these particular musicians into the same room. That is the asset — and it is the only thing worth funding first.
The commission model is not new: it is how Kronos Quartet built Fifty for the Future, and how Silkroad funds intercultural work that no box office could pay for. What is new is who is curating.
Twenty-five years of MoonJune means the phone gets answered. Musicians from Canterbury progressive rock, Indonesian fusion, flamenco and American jazz say yes because they trust a person, not a corporation.
A patron does not receive a product. A patron receives authorship of a moment in music history — a record, a film and a physical edition that carry their name for as long as the work exists.

The first commission is funded by the founding campaign opening in October 2026. Artists for each commission are approached and confirmed once that commission is funded — never before.
